Born with a Silver Spoon in your Mouth
This phrase is common when referring to people who have been born into a wealthy family. The saying is commonly thought to originate within the British aristocracy. The phrase came from the practice of godparents giving a silver spook as a gift to a child who had gotten christened. At the time, spoons were generally made of wood and a child would use the wooded utensil unless he was gifted the silver spoon. However a child born in a rich family did not have to wait. He or she had it all from the start.
