Waverly Hills Sanitorium – Kentucky, USA
The Waverly Hills Sanitorium served as a tuberculosis hospital during the worst part of the tuberculosis outbreak in the United States. Over 60,000 people are believed to have died in the sanitorium, either from the disease itself, the alleged mistreatment of the patients, or the unethical experimental procedures that were done on many of the patients. Visitors have reported full-bodied apparitions, disembodied screams and talking, and sudden cold spots, among other disturbing sensations. The subject of many ghost shows and literature, Waverly Hills remains one of the most haunted places in the United States and the world.
